Job Description

My Montessori School is the brightest new Montessori nursery in Brook Green, W6. We are on a mission to create an affectionate and nurturing environment promoting growth mindset in our children.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting environment with a unique culture.

We are looking to hire a Deputy Nursery Manager on a full-time basis, term-time from Jan/Feb 2019. You need to be ambitious and creative, with great communication and organisational skills, deep love for working with children and a positive attitude. You will have the opportunity to grow with us and be part of a great team that is building something special.

Your responsibilities:

* Follow the child during the sessions
* Gain insight into the child in order to help them reach their full potential
* Create instruction that supports the whole child’s developmental arc
* Use a variety of assessment tools on an ongoing basis in order to fairly evaluate and make further decisions about a child’s unfolding development
* Share knowledge of child development concepts with all stakeholders
* Prepare a classroom and outdoor environment that meets the development of the children in the room
* Be responsible for the safety of the children in their care at all times
* Maintain an ongoing conversation with additional staff members and parents regarding how to best coordinate curriculum
* Communicate positively with children and families
* Participate in ongoing self-assessment and professional development of the team
* Administrative work
* Participate in meetings, training and planning in order to meet the needs of each child
* Encourage students to exhibit joy in the learning process
* Encourage students to engage completely in work for the duration of a work cycle
* Model appropriate independence in the classroom setting
* Understand and promote the schools mission and values at all times
* Enthusiastically support school policies and regulations
* Adhere to overarching policies of confidentiality and respect

Qualifications and Skills
You must deeply love children and see them as they are, unique human beings with a great potential. You are free of judgment and labels and you always see the best in everyone. You are flexible and conscious in your work. You know the power of words and you are careful of how you use them.You are smiling and happy. You have a positive attitude and you are enthusiastic about your work with children.

* Open communication with other staff members – willing to give feedback and receive feedback
* Demonstrate deep knowledge of Montessori philosophy
* Ambitious and creative, with great communication skills
* Montessori Teaching Qualification with Accredited Body Level 3 and above
* DBS and First Aid
