Part-Time Montessori Teacher and Acting Deputy

Job Description

This exciting opportunity offers the right candidate to become part of the redevelopment of a recently acquired pre-school, now under new management. The pre-school is set in a lovely leafy area of Surrey with nearby Commuter transport links. The pre-school works within the Montessori approach, and therefore the right candidate will have a good understanding of this approach and the ethos which underpin the methods used to support children’s early development and learning.

Duties will include:

*Working closely with the Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the pre-school
*Excellent communication skills with children, staff and parents
*Differentiating learning activities for children individualised to their needs
*Producing and carrying out lesson plans (group and individual)
*Keeping up to date and informed of legislation, training, and government agenda’s in relation to early education
*Support in the planning of parent’s evenings, special events and excursions
*The ability to work well within a team and provide leadership to other supporting staff members
*Ensure all paperwork is in keeping with Ofsted Requirements
*Becoming familiarized with the pre-schools policies and procedures and working within these at all times
*Work with manager to keep the pre-schools occupancy levels full and assistance in marketing
*Working in partnership with parents
*Forming secure relationships with the attending children
*Tend to key children and buddy key children and ensure their development is continuously monitored and develop opportunities to support progress
*Contribute ideas and feedback to Manager and other staff members
*Working as support staff for Forest School sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

The Deputy will also act as the Lead for the setting in the absence of the Manager, the Deputy must therefore be a responsible, reliable and honest individual with good organisation skills and excellent punctuality.

The right candidate MUST have:

*Passion for working with children in the Early Years range
*A current and clean Disclosure Barring Services (DBS) Certificate
*Montessori Diploma/Level 3 Qualification in Early Years/Childcare
*Current and valid Paediatric First Aid Training – (12 hours) (or willing to obtain)
*Contactable references

The ideal candidate (but not essential) will have:

*Leadership skills/management experience
*Safeguarding Training
*Experience of working with children with SEN/SEN training

Job Type:

Start date: 4th January 2018
Salary: £9/hour
Tuesday 9.30 – 12.30pm
Wednesday 9 – 3pm
Thursday 9 – 12pm
Friday 9 – 3pm
Total (18 hours/week)
(Term-Time) 4 weeks paid holiday pro rata.
